Based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, Tameside College is a further education college that offers a wide range of courses including Full-Time, Part-Time, Apprenticeships and University Level. We aim to give all our students an exceptional experience.

We believe in excellence and we back that up with high standards, real working environments and great teaching. We also believe that attending college is about more than achieving a qualification, important though that is. That is why we aim to give every person the opportunity to develop their full potential in a supportive and friendly environment.

We are currently looking to recruit a Learner Engagement Officer to join us to provide administrative services for apprenticeships and other contracts managed through the work based learning team.

Providing recruitment support for candidates accessing apprenticeship vacancies by carrying out initial screening and assessments, completion of auditable documentation/enrolments and eligibility evidence, you will deal with day to day enquiries and ensure that all the necessary documentation and recruitment processes are followed. Arranging interviews when required for the learner and liaising with the employer and candidate throughout, you will match candidates to appropriate employers whilst meeting with applicants to provide introductions to apprenticeships as part of the recruitment process.

With experience of word processing, databases and spreadsheets, you will have a background of dealing with the public by telephone and in person coupled with experience of working in an administrative capacity. Good organisational skills are essential and you must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and relate to people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures, especially young people.
