36 hours – Fixed term role for 30 months

This Apprentice role offers an excellent starting point for anyone looking to build a career in careers guidance, combining hands-on experience with a Level 6 Careers Development qualification through a 30-month fixed-term apprenticeship. You be joining the careers and progression team within student services within the college and benefit from structured training, ongoing support and mentorship from experienced careers professional to help your practice and development.

You will work directly with a diverse student population, delivering one-to-one guidance sessions, deliver group activities and carryout administrative tasks. You will develop as an adviser to deliver high-quality, tailored careers guidance to individuals with diverse support needs, including those with SEND, EHCPs, care experience and children of Armed Forces personnel. You will offer careers guidance throughout the learner journey, from pre-enrolment through to progression, supporting students to achieve their full potential.

This role is well suited to someone who is motivated to make a positive impact by helping others plan and progress in their careers, while also building their own professional pathway. Through the apprenticeship programme, you will gain both a recognised qualification and valuable on-the-job experience, supporting your personal and career development simultaneously. You should be organised, motivated to learn and committed to completing the Level 6 apprenticeship. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and the ability to build professional relationships are essential, along with confidence in using digital tools.
